Van Agde dan via Aigues mortes over t kanaal van Sete naar de Rhone.Geen boom meer langs t kanaal,maar wilde paarden,flamingo s,witte reigers en een heleboel andere vogels die ik nog nooit gezien heb.en wat een zonsondergang alle kleuren van de regenboog,en in de lucht een grote groep flamingo s.
De Rhone op,en ik overnacht in Roquemaure,tegenover het wijngebied Chateauneuf du pape.s avonds kom de plaatselijke jeugd klagen dat ik op hun duikplek lig.Ik bied ze een alternatief,en Joop doet mee

Heb even je site gelezen en bij weer bij. De Camarque, daar zijn Luuk en ik ook wel eens gezien. Prachtige natuur, inderdaad veel vogels, flamingo's en paarden. Wij zijn die reis niet vergeten. Geniet maar van het mooie weer, hier is het but weer.

Wat een geweldig gezicht zeg, zo op zee met het bootje!!!! Vraag me af of je het nog wel trekt om (uiteindelijk) terug te zijn in Rotterdam. Wel leuk om je weer te zien!! Ik kom eerst nog naar jou toe hoor, maar als je ietsje meer in de buurt ligt.

met de stroom valt t mee,er zitten stukken tussen met behoorlijk wat stroom,vooral in de gekanaliseerde stukken voor de sluizen.Ik ben er vanaf nu,want ben op de Saone nu

forgot the name of it,but it s a castle that housed some famous inhabitants,like a pope. it s been bombed in the 2nd worldwar,and a tower and a wall are the leftovers
it s on the chateauneufside of the River.On the Saone now,glad the Rhone is behind me.x

was heel leuk op zee,achteraf had ik t anker uit moeten gooien en even moeten blijven liggen.
ben inmiddels op de Saone dus bereid je maar vast voor om te komen!x
Thanks for the info P! I looked it up and read that it was an incredibly important castle and fortress until the 16th century and as you said, lots of kings and popes stayed there, but when it was annexed by the town it lost importance and gradually got used as a stone quarry, which is why there's so little left of it now. Sad hey? It's on a spectacular location.
